If you were holding out hope for a Denis Villeneuve-directed, absolutely miserable Star Wars installment, you might want to sit down, as he hasn't really enjoyed the series since 1983's Return of the Jedi.
]]>Legendary's MonsterVerse is in a pretty good spot after its last two crossover movies and Apple TV+'s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters surprisingly being one of the best super expensive tie-in shows based on big-screen properties. Now, it's juicing up its cast ahead of Season 2, and Amber Midthunder is first in line.
]]>Last year, we learned that Capcom and Legendary Pictures had teamed up to develop a new live-action Street Fighter movie, and Talk to Me directors Danny and Michael Philippou were promptly attached to it. Now, the filmmakers have just departed the project due to scheduling issues, but that isn't stopping distributor Sony Pictures from setting a tentative release date anyway.
]]>Oh dear, the Street Fighter movie has had to pause progress, as it has just lost its pair of directors.
]]>Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has done very well at the box office, but Adam Wingard reportedly won't be back for the next one.
]]>If you forgot a new Street Fighter movie was happening, don't worry, me too, but the film's logo is here to remind us it exists.
]]>With Dune: Part Two in the rear view mirror and everyone looking towards the Dune: Messiah adaptation next, you'd think the franchise would be taking some time away from our screens...and you'd be wrong. Dune: Prophecy is coming to Max this fall.
]]>There are no spoilers ahead for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, beyond what's been revealed in marketing materials.
]]>Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire looks rad, but I can see how it's not for everyone, especially if you aren't familiar with like 90% of Toho's Godzilla franchise and would rather stick to more serious affairs, such as Godzilla Minus One. Well, sorry if you're in that boat, as the American movies might be staying balls-to-the-wall silly for a bit longer.
]]>Dune: Part Two is kind of a corker for sure, but some moviegoers also felt it was brutally long, as we don't get many near-three-hours epics these days anymore (with stuff like Avatar: The Way of Water and Napoleon being other recent exceptions). According to writer-director Denis Villeneuve, we missed out on at least a couple of pretty cool actors because he and the studio didn't want the movie to overstay its welcome.
]]>Turns out that first Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire trailer was only the tip of the giant iceberg, as things are now looking much wilder and cartoonier (in a good way) than in 2021's battle royale.
]]>Before Dune: Part Two's arrival next month, we're getting more and more comments on what the future may hold, but director Denis Villeneuve could be done with the franchise soon.
]]>It looks like the Minecraft movie's cast is growing even more, with the latest addition being none other than Jennifer Coolidge.
]]>Hey, remember that Minecraft movie which has been in development for almost as long as the Uncharted flick that ended up being extremely mid? No? We don't blame you. Anyway, it nabbed Jason Momoa (really) as its lead last year, and more recently confirmed it'll open in 2025 if the plans aren't blown up by a stray creeper once again.
]]>The first trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is here and no, I don't understand why they're both running like that either.
]]>Monarch: Legacy of Monsters isn’t yet another show about the Windsors, though one could understand the confusion. It is, however, the latest Apple TV+ genre smash, joining the other hugely ambitious projects on the service such as Silo, For All Mankind, and Foundation. Lovers of all things scifi or adjacent have been eating good for the last couple of years courtesy of Tim Cook and his seemingly pathological need to give a lengthy free trial to anyone who walks near a Curries.
]]>A new Street Fighter movie is in the works at Legendary Entertainemnt, the studio behind Detective Pikachu, Pacific Rim, Godzilla vs Kong, and more.
]]>Detective Pikachu 2, the movie, not the game, might finally be on the way, as a director might finally be attached to the project.
]]>Legendary Pictures is so confident Detective Pikachu will be a hit, it's already planning the sequel.
]]>Well, there's a headline I didn't anticipate writing today.
]]>Legendary Warcraft character, Medivah, will be in the upcoming Warcraft movie, and will be played by actor Ben Foster.
]]>Universal announced a 2016 release for a "secret" movie today, and it's just possible it might be the long-awaited Mass Effect movie.
]]>Warcraft, the Duncan Jones-directed movie based on the family of Blizzard games related to World of Warcraft, is going to need almost two years in post-production, apparently.
]]>Back in September there was a rumor that Colin Farrell may star in the Warcraft movie being directed by Moon's Duncan Jones. Farrell recently spoke with IGN and neither confirmed nor denied he would be starring in the Blizzard vehicle.
]]>Legendary pictures' Warcraft movie could start filming as early as January 13, 2014 in Vancouver, according to a Production Weekly report. The site tweeted that the studio has set up offices in the region. A teaser for the film was shown during Comic-Con and Duncan Jones is lasted to direct. Via IGN.
]]>The World of Warcraft movie was teased during Comic-Com today thanks to a short trailer shown off by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. The film directed by Duncan Jones, is scheduled to start shooting in early 2014. The teaser was a live-action, CG mix and showed a Warrior roaming an empty desert with a shield on his back facing off with an Orc. The film will simply be titled Warcraft. Once someone loads this up on YouTube we'll post it for you here. Thanks, CinemaBlend.
]]>In completely unsurprising news, Legendary Pictures has confirmed that yes, the Mass Effect movie will be all about Commander Shepard. It's also (unfortunately) confirmed that the character in the starring role will be John, and not our beloved FemShep. That aside, it's still good to have some news about the film adaptation, right?
]]>It's time for small things, funny things, and weird things. Get your fill below.
]]>The long-silent Mass Effect movie project will get an outing at Comic Con. Schwing.
]]>In a world where Doom, Dungeon Siege, Far Cry, Postal, and Mortal Kombat were morphed into movies, it's refreshing to see a videogame-to-film adaptation that finally makes sense. Congratulations, Legendary Pictures. In addition to probably having a multi-million dollar film franchise on your hands, you've won our cautious optimism.
We're sure that you're absolutely thrilled.
