]]>^Check out our discussion of the Goldeneye remaster, with oodles of 4K footage!
]]>Switch Online users seem to be enjoying playing GoldenEye 007 on their consoles, but a few are having a bit of trouble with the controls.
]]>GoldenEye 007 is out on modern platforms, giving everyone a chance to try out this classic shooter for the first time, or maybe even go back to a nostalgic classic. Those in the know will be happy to learn that alongside the brilliant gameplay we all fell in love with years ago, as well as that brilliant multiplayer mode that ate away at our weekends, the same GoldenEye 007 cheats are back too.
]]>The announcement that a remastered version of GoldenEye 007 is heading to Xbox was met with cheers – rightly, given it’s one of the best games of all time. Then the cheers gave way to confusion, and disappointment, as it was confirmed that the version of the game releasing on Xbox consoles won’t have online multiplayer – only the classic split-screen. The game is now out for everyone to play (assuming you have Game Pass or a digital copy of Rare Replay), and the sense of disappointment is thick in the air.
]]>Welcome to VG247's Best Games Ever Podcast: Episode 36 - The best game that really needs a remake.
]]>I f**king loved GoldenEye. As a proper, card carrying, 'N64 kid', this game was quite possibly the best thing ever to hit a games console. It was 1997, the PlayStation could only really put out first-person shooters that appeared to have been put through a blender, and while the PC was home to some true classics (Blood and Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II both hit that same year – Quake and Duke Nukem 3D the year before), for most people the N64 was the best choice when it came to multiplayer-friendly gaming.
]]>A release date for GoldenEye 007 has been set for Nintendo Switch Online and Xbox Game Pass, and it's coming soon. Like, really soon, as in this Friday, January 27.
]]>What a thrill it’s been to see GoldenEye 007 finally revealed to be making a return on Nintendo Switch and Xbox. Sure, it’s been rumored for a long time, but it was still one of the most electrifying announcements on a day that was, thanks to a Nintendo Direct and State of Play, pretty packed full of ‘em.
]]>But the celebration was short-lived. After the Direct wrapped up, more materials for the games started to circulate, and it became clear that something was off – the two versions of the games, one for Xbox and one for Switch, would be quite different after all.
]]>During today's Nintendo Direct, the Japanese company announced today that Rare is releasing GoldenEye 007 HD on Nintendo Switch and Xbox. The title is a remaster of the cult classic Nintendo 64 title first hit consoles way back in 1997.
]]>The highly rumoured GoldenEye 007 remaster is reportedly "in limbo" due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
]]>Xbox Achievements site TrueAchievements (thanks Wario64) posted a list of achievements for Goldeneye 007, a curious thing since that game doesn’t exist on Xbox platforms and indicates a possible leak of an upcoming port of the foundational FPS.
]]>GoldenEye 007's German ban has been lifted, leading some people to believe that the game could be set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service.
]]>A port of GoldenEye 007 was in development for Xbox Live Arcade at one point before it was canned.

]]>Elon Musk's weird polygonal Cybertruck has found a new home in the weird polygonal world of GoldenEye 007.
]]>GoldenEye 007 on the N64 is still held up by fans as one of the best shooters ever made, and certainly the finest movie-game tie-in. Unfortunately Pierce Brosnan, who only bloody was James Bond, is pretty crap at playing it.
]]>In a GDC Europe post-mortem of N64 classic Goldeneye 007, as reported by IGN, director Martin Hollis revealed a troubled development history for the system-seller. Highlights include the team building an on-rails shooter because it didn't know what kind of controller the then-new console would have, and chucking the famous multiplayer in at the last moment. The game took 32 months to make, well over deadline. Interesting stuff. Goldeneye 007 has never been released via console networks thanks to the transfer of the Bond license, but a modern re-imagining was released by Activision in 2010.
]]>Activision has released the launch trailer for GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. The game, originally released on Wii and revamped for 360 and PS3, will include separate Mi6 Ops Missions spanning the varied environments from the story. Each will also contain challenges for players to complete suing Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defense objectives. The game also includes four-player split-screen and 16-player online matches with more maps, weapons, characters and game modes than the previous outing. The game lands in stores next week.
]]>Activision has sent over a batch of screenshots from GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. Earlier this week, we posted a video featuring the brand new Mi6 Ops Missions from the game, which contains levels separate from the campaign that span varied environments from the story. These missions also contain a challenge to complete different Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defense objectives. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded will arrive in stores this fall and is being developed by Eurocom.
]]>Amazon France has outed GoldenEye Reloaded for Xbox 360 and PS3, which would explain the various domain registrations which popped up for the game last month.

]]>Brian Pass, senior producer at Activision, has said that GoldenEye 007's exclusivity to Wii was due to a gap in Wii's line-up and because the firm wanted to partner with Nintendo.
