]]>VR is definitely seen as a bit of a luxury, in some quarters a gimmick. I think the former is true, what with the high cost of entry (and even more if you want a headset connected to a PC or console), but it’s absolutely not a gimmick. Seeing is believing in the case of VR, so the launch of Sony’s PlayStation VR2 headset and controllers has sparked yet another wave of “it’s impossible to explain how good VR is” chat. That is true to an extent, but I’m here to tell you that you should buy PS VR2 to play Gran Turismo 7. It’s that good. And I’m not really a huge Gran Turismo fan.
]]>After years of speculation, Sony’s PlayStation VR2 finally arrived during the beginning of 2023. Boasting twin-OLED screens, 4K visuals and updated and redesigned controllers alongside intelligent eye-tracking and 3D audio, it's the most advanced console VR yet.
]]>Gran Turismo 7's February update is almost here, adding in VR functionality, more cars, and some very fancy AI race car drivers.
]]>Tom's a bit smitten with PS VR2, but I, a Virtual Reality Sceptic, have my doubts. So Tom donned the headset in an attempt to convince me that yes, Sony's newest VR platform is the real deal, and well worth the buy-in. In fact, he says, it's the most exciting leap forward in gaming since Mario 64. But I have to wonder if this costly peripheral is more akin to the Mega Drive's 32X — an impressive add-on, but fiddly to use, and destined to have a limited library of b-tier exclusives and hasty ports. We argue about it in this video here:
]]>At CES 2023, Sony provided two bits of Gran Turismo news.
]]>This weekend just gone, it was the Gran Turismo World Finals, as well as Gran Turismo’s 25th Anniversary. During the event, it was revealed that Polyphony Digital could possibly port Gran Turismo 7 to PC platforms.
]]>Despite launching way back in 2020, it was arguably 2023 when the PS5 finally came into its own. It was always a good console, but 2023 was the first year when you could potentially just buy a PS5 without waiting in a digital queue and pouncing like an eBay sniper for even the most legitimate of purchases.
]]>It has been announced that Gran Turismo 7 will be receiving a number of changes to the quantity of in-game currency earned through race rewards. In addition, in order to quell some of the anger following a recent post-launch patch that sent the rewards system out of whack, players who log in between now and April 25 will get 1 million credits for free.
]]>You may be wondering "is Gran Turismo 7 offline for everyone, or just me?" If you've tried to boot up the game at all in the last 24 hours, you'll have been met with error screens and messages telling you that 'no, you cannot play the game right now.'

]]>Polyphony Digital is well-known for its production chops in Gran Turismo games. Whether it's in recreating beachy California-inspired street circuits, presenting its own take on the pine-lined courses of more European environments, or creating asphalt better than anything you've ever seen with your naked eyes, the studio excels.
]]>What’s the weirdest thing you have gotten excited about when it comes to the reveal or announcement of a video game? Because people were losing their collective minds on Twitter when Gran Turismo 7 showed off a fairly unspectacular looking map screen at its initial showcase, because the hardcore GT fans thought it potentially meant the return of ‘classic’ Gran Turismo, following the competitive, esports-leaning Gran Turismo Sport. Moments later, further celebration at some footage of a bit of road, one that showed a much-loved classic Gran Turismo track. Then, confirmation! Gran Turismo 7 – the real sequel fans have been waiting years for – was on its way. Racing game Twitter was, as they say, absolute limbs.
]]>Polyphony Digital recently showed a more in-depth look at the imminent Gran Turismo 7, the latest in a franchise with 25 years of history and acclaim behind it. It looks wonderful. All the little touches from old games that you missed in Gran Turismo Sport, the forensic eye for detail is even more evident, and the visuals look as good today as the original did next to its PS1 contemporaries – it’s just somehow shinier, more luxurious on the eye, than anything else out there. Forza Horizon 5 included.
]]>What always set Gran Turismo apart was the little details. We all went and bought it because it was the real driving simulator, and it backed that statement up with licensed cars and realistic stopping distances. But what made us stick around and play it obsessively thereafter was that it was so fastidious about car culture. It gave us incredibly faithful models of really normal cars you might see in a Morrisson’s car park, like a Toyota Yaris or a Nissan Micra, and there was a thrill to tuning one up and watching it smoke a Mitsubishi FTO.

Thankfully fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as, Gran Turismo 7 is now only a few months away – and a Japanese retailer has revealed some juicy new details.
