Good news Lies of P fans, the game's upcoming DLC is set to release in Q1 of 2025. In addition, the developer Neowiz is currently working on a sci-fi survival horror game.
]]>Neowiz has announced that Lies of P - the game that seemingly every other gaming publication gave a good review score to - is enhanced on the PS5 Pro. Not that you can see right now of course, with the console not being out yet. But once it is, you can expect to experience the (mostly) beloved souls-like with a wood-polish esque sheen.
]]>Lies of P director Jiwon Choi has written a letter to fans thanking them for their support a year after the game's launch. In addition, links to a new music track and screenshot for the upcoming DLC for Lies of P has been revealed.
]]>Apple announced its App Store Award winners yesterday, rounding up the best apps and games from across 2023, with Honkai Star Rail coming out on top.
]]>Recently, our friend and long time VG247 contributor Sherif Saed gave Pinnochio-themed soulslike Lies of P a bit of a pasting in his review. Our two star score prompted a lot of backlash from some quarters, and also a bit of internal discussion about the nature of opinion pieces. How reviews can sometimes be a flashpoint of controversy, and how scores don’t reflect any of the nuance that led the author to their conclusion. Personally, I’m always a bit baffled by the phenomenon of people who haven’t played a game kicking off online about the views of someone who has. As a wise man once said: “it’s only game, why you have to be mad?”
]]>A patch is coming to Lies of P along with DLC, and a sequel is also planned.
]]>This year's weirdest Soulslike, Lies of P, looks like it might be getting some DLC in the future.
]]>Conceptually, Lies of P is possibly one of the funniest games I can imagine. A Soulsborne-style game based on Pinocchio? Are you yanking my chain? It doesn't feel like it's something that should work, nor even necessarily made in the first place (here comes that pesky 'but'...) But! To be honest with you, it's surprisingly good. I wouldn't call it great, or particularly unique, it's just that there's something about it that I do keep coming back to. I think it's the feeling of potential.
]]>We're coming towards the end of September, so Xbox has revealed the next batch of games that will be coming to Game Pass throughout the rest of the month.
]]>Whether it was the similarities to Bloodborne, the link to the story of Pinocchio, or the fact it’s on Game Pass is what brought you to Lies of P - this is a game that’s not always the most welcoming to new players.
]]>Lies of P is a Souls-like that occasionally offers its own take on ideas and mechanics you’d expect to see in those games. While you may find a lot of familiar mechanics here, be prepared to see a different interpretation of one thing or another the more you play.
]]>The minute you mention that a game is a Souls-like, everyone automatically assumes a certain subset of mechanics are going to be present. But one mechanic in particular seems to have somehow avoided evolution alongside many of the others that did: dropping your Souls (in Lies of P's case, Ergo) upon death.
]]>I was asked to unbox the Lies of P Deluxe Edition on the basis that I'm a puppet and so was Pinocchio, which I found crass, given that Pinocchio was one of the stringy ones and I am one of the ones with a hand up the backside. However I reluctantly agreed despite this in order to spend more time with my horrid son Vespasian (no relation).
]]>Lies of P is a game of two halves, both of which are underwhelming. The story is a retelling of the Adventures of Pinocchio, set in a world that owes some of its looks to Bloodborne’s Yharnam, and Steelrising’s 18th Century Paris. Outside of being aware of the idea that its nose grows every time P tells a lie, I’m not familiar with the story of Pinocchio, so I didn’t have any expectations about the narrative one way or another.

]]>It's a pretty wild year in the world of third-person action games, huh? Hi-Fi Rush popped out of nowhere and took the world by storm, while Star Wars Jedi: Survivor managed to capture the hearts of many due to slick combat in spite of sketchy performance issues. But you know, it's only May, and there's still one game I'm pumped for. Lies of P.

]]>A new Lies of P video has been released, showing new content from the game running on AMD's new Radeon RX 7900 XTX at 8K resolution.
]]>This year’s Gamescom was a strange one. The first year back after the pandemic, many of gaming’s biggest publishers decided to skip the show – which had the welcome effect of shining a brighter spotlight on many games and publishers that usually might have to jostle with the bigger multinational corporations for attention. French publisher Focus Home Interactive, previously best known for games like A Plague Tale and Vampyr, had the best line-up of the show. But another beneficiary of the no-shows was undoubtedly Xbox.
]]>The Lies of P gameplay reveal from earlier in the week at gamescom's Opening Night Live was one of the show's highlights. Fans of Bloodborne, in particular, went through it frame-by-frame, dissecting it to see how much resembles FromSoftware's unmatched title.
