Warning: Spoilers for Cyberpunk 2077 lie ahead.
]]>The Sims 4 High School Years was a franchise-first expansion pack, responding to a wish that had often been expressed by Simmers over the years: to accompany their teen Sims to an active school day, rather than simply wave them off from the curb at 8am to experience all that deliciously soapy coming-of-age drama off-screen.
]]>Blizzard developers have returned from holiday to deliver some news for all Diablo 4 players eager to hear more about the game’s next season. Season 7 is kicking off the day Season 6 ends - on January 21 - so it’s time for the team to reconvene and spill some beans.
]]>Ubisoft has just announced that Assassin's Creed Shadows has been delayed from its latest release date of February 14, to a new date of March 20, 2025. So, you'll have to wait a little longer to see some nice clouds over Feudal Japan.
]]>Do you know what you want? In life? More importantly, in video games? It's a question Fallout co-creator, noe famous for his YouTube videos looking back at his career and opining on different topics related to game development has clearly been thinking about. His view? Basically, make sure you try and give developers feedback they can actually use.
]]>We are a little over one month away from the highly-anticipated release of Monster Hunter Wilds. As is the case with most games when they near their release date, we’re starting to see more new things to get us excited about Wilds.
]]>The Sims 4 Growing Together expansion pack fleshes out gameplay for a number of often-neglected life stages in TS4 – in other words, basically everyone other than Young Adults, who tend to get the most attention by default from both devs and players. And hey, many of us have been guilty of perpetuating that; but with Growing Together, there's a few more reasons to step outside of that comfort zone and play a legacy family, rather than an endless stream of SINK and DINK households you abandon after a single generation.
]]>Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii is due to come out next month, and you can get a fresh look at it today by tuning into an RGG Like A Dragon Direct right here that'll see SEGA show off some more of what you'll get up to in the swashbuckling Majimadventure.
]]>While we'd not seen The Witcher 4 in action prior to last year's edition of The Game Awards, when it got itsfirst trailer, CD Projekt has been beavering away at it for a while.
]]>In case you're not super into the Moba space, League of Legends has released its 2025 season cinematic to kick off a new year of competition. This cinematic, which takes us to the region of Noxus and introduces us to a variety of champions who hang around there, has soared past 25 million views in less than a day.
]]>Do you like classical music? Is your life set to a beautiful symphony invoving violins, pianos, and the occasional tuba? Do you yearn for the surreal event that will be tunes from the Elder Scrolls being played on a radio station that your grandparents might listen to?
]]>The Sims 4 Horse Ranch isn't trying to hide its core gameplay addition behind any fancy puns – yup, this is the TS4 expansion pack where you can buy a horse, finally! You can also buy sheep and mini goats, which are slightly simpler creatures from the game's point of view, but also much cuter, although I suppose "The Sims 4 Horse and Mini Goat and Sheep Ranch" didn't have quite the same ring to it.
]]>Capcom has today announced what a lot of us Monster Hunter Wilds fans expected: the game is going to return to our PCs and consoles one last time ahead of the big launch in late February. Well, the open beta will, anyway.
]]>A good Genshin Impact Citlali build has one thing at its center: elemental mastery. Citlali needs it more than any other stat, and the good thing about that is you can get a free 4-star catalyst that buffs elemental mastery – no fiddling with the weapons banner required. Citlali’s kit includes a passive buff that raises her damage by a hefty amount of her mastery, so stack as much of it on her as you can.
]]>Microsoft has announced the first wave of January Game Pass line-up, kicking off the new year with a selection of new titles for subscribers to check out. Though, if you're a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber playing on Xbox, you're only getting one new game.
]]>The Sims 4 For Rent might have placed its focus in a bit of a strange place – truly, even in TS4's diverse player-base, not many people were actively campaigning to be allowed to become a landlord in the game – but it does reintroduce one feature that Simmers had been crying out to see again for literal years: apartment buildings (and other multi-unit dwellings) that could be fully edited using TS4's excellent architecture tools.
]]>UPDATE (08/01/25, 9:05 AM GMT): VG247 has recieved an additional statement from Tencent in which the company said the following:
]]>Go Go Muffin is a mobile idle game that takes place during a lengthy wagon journey. As you explore, you’ll automatically fight foes (but take control when battling tough bosses), summon adorable pets, and build your character to your liking, all while making your way through a colorful fantasy world.
]]>Sony clearly has a lot of faith in Ghost of Tsushima as an IP, as on top of that live-action film, an anime has just been announced.
]]>Supermarket Simulator is a Roblox tycoon game that’s all about building your own supermarket from the ground up. In this game, you’ll stock your shelves, set prices for items, ring customers up at the register, and expand your store (and profits).
]]>Rate My Car is a Roblox style game that’s like Dress To Impress but with cars. In this game, you (and several other players) will customize a car to fit a chosen theme and then vote for the best car. As you win rounds, you’ll earn Cash to unlock new vehicles and other parts, letting you deck out your car to the fullest (and hopefully win more competitions).
]]>That Horizon Zero Dawn Netflix series might have been canned, but don't worry, Sony has another trick up its sleeve: a film adaptation.
]]>Sure, Stellar Blade isn't to everyone's tastes, but the entire staff got a cash bonus alongside a PS5 Pro, which is pretty nice really.
]]>A very, very good JRPG is back on the Nintendo Switch e-shop after a brief absence. That means you, yes you at home with a nice pocket of Christmas cash, can grab it right now and have a blast during this depressing January.
]]>Elden Ring Nightreign was one of the big headlines at The Game Awards, and sign-ups for a network test of it are set to open up this week. That's pretty rapid, but clearly it ain't rapid enough for some hardcore Souls heads, with one having decided to set themselves the challenge of dishing out a no hit boss beating every day until it's out.
]]>The longer Nintendo takes to officially unveil the Switch successor (that’s what the company is actually currently calling it), the more of these sorts of leaks are going to pop up. Because of just how protracted this entire process has felt, it is a little amusing that we’re now past hardware and design leaks, and well into game leaks.
]]>When Elden Ring: Nightreign was announced just a few weeks ago at The Game Awards, much of the discussion had a lot do with how surprising the reveal was. This is, after all, an online co-op game from a studio mostly known for its single-player experiences.
]]>Generally most of the best selling games these days have some amount of violence in them, and if you ask Fallout co-creator Tim Cain, that's because we keep buying them.
]]>If you thought Stardew Valley was popular, you probably didn't realise just how popular, as the indie game hits a pretty massive sales milestone.
]]>The right Genshin Impact Mavuika build is refreshingly straightfowrard to put together, thanks to the Pyro Archon’s unique kit. Mavuika doesn’t need much to work well – just some extra attack and a bit of crit damage. What’s more important is putting her in the right team. Mavuika’s burst needs are different from every other character in Genshin Impact, so far anyway, and her nature as a Pyro sub-DPS means she works in far more team varieties than most Pyro characters since the game launched.
]]>Lootify is a RPG that skips straight to the best part: the shiny loot at the end of the dungeon!
]]>SpongeBob Tower Defense is a Roblox game based on the beloved Nickelodeon cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants. Like other tower defense games, players have to defend their base from wave after wave of enemies by placing units strategically around a map.
]]>Jujutsu Infinite is a Roblox game inspired by the popular anime Jujutsu Kaisen. Players follow in the footsteps of the series' main character Yuji Itadori, and start off as a budding sorcerer at the Jujutsu High School.
]]>HoYoverse unveiled the Honkai Star Rail 3.0 banners, and all I can say is good lord. The Herta – Herta’s actual, human form, not just the puppet – makes her debut alongside Aglaea, the first character from Amphoreus. The Remembrance Trailblazer is also a thing, but we knew all of this was happening already. What we didn’t know is that HoYoverse is putting six big reruns on these banners as well. That’s rough for free-to-play players, of course, but it’s rather a strain for those who just drop some money on the game from time to time as well, what with the annual Shard top-up still being a few months away.
]]>Thanks to Larian itself and modders, Baldur's Gate 3 keeps getting new bits added to it, because clearly the absolutely huge base game hasn't been enough to totally eat up the free time of hardcore DnD partiers.
]]>With the release of season 2 of Squid Game, the Roblox experience Squid Game X has added not just a new game mode based on the latest series, but a selection of new codes as well.
]]>Skyblivion, the massive modding project that’s remaking The Elder Scrolls IV in Skyrim’s engine, is now in its currently scheduled release year - 2025.
]]>Happy new year, Honkai Star Rail fans! Did you have some nice R&R away from your favourite gacha? If so, sit back down and get ready for a major in-game update buddy, as the developers at HoYoverse have announced the release date for the version 3.0 Paean of Era Nova update.
]]>In recent years, some of gaming’s biggest breakout successes have been released during the post-Christmas lull between New Year and Spring. Traditionally, it’s supposed to be a quieter time on the calendar - where we’re all too full of turkey and trimmings and sated by games gifted over the holidays to have an appetite for anything new.
]]>I first played Another Crab's Treasure on the side of the street behind the Day of the Devs event in LA earlier this year, the sun glaring on a laptop screen, quickly running out of power. Next to me sat Nick, the studio head, who watched patiently as a hungover blob attempted to navigate his team's game. He muttered "interesting" as I struggled to navigate the tutorial at first, I assume in awe at how long it took me to jump into the ocean and start the game proper. It remains the most embarrassing moment I had this year.
]]>Look, it’s not my fault I like video games where you run around like a mischievous little Grinch ruining the Christmas that is people going about their everyday lives, by running them down with cars, slamming a bike over their head so hard they don’t get up, or firing an RPG directly at the pavement in front of them.
]]>Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth might not have met Square Enix's sales expectations, but the game's producer still says they're satisfied with them.
]]>Last year, around this time, I wrote a feature arguing that Starfield, with its perfectly OK, but a bit synthetic and cold universe, was 2023’s actual game of the year.
]]>One of the best games of the year, Astro Bot, served as a great reminder of how much great IP PlayStation has and doesn't use, but that might be changing.
]]>The Nier series is hitting its 15th anniversary next year, and while a new game hasn't been confirmed just yet, the games' producer might have teased something for 2025.
]]>The team behind Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has proven it knows how to make a video game movie, and now the writers have shared that they'd like to tackle a Zelda movie.
]]>I still think about the time, several years ago now, when I mentioned off-handedly in the comments of an article I wrote about video game adaptations of Stephen King stories that my dream game in this vein would be a Don't Nod adaptation of It. I've especially been thinking about that since the announcement of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – a game developed and self-published by Don't Nod, due out in early 2025 – because I'll be damned if it doesn't clearly take quite a bit of inspiration from King's iconic 1986 doorstopper about an eldritch spider-clown from outer space, and the ragtag bunch of misfits destined to fight it.
]]>Regardless of the quality of Metaphor: ReFantazio, the project was started as a way for its developer, Studio Zero, to create a third JRPG franchise of its own, to stand alongside Shin Megami Tensei, and Persona - two series the studio worked on.
]]>Whether or not you care about League of Legends, it’s hard to deny the impact Arcane - the animated series inspired by the game’s world and characters - has had on the streaming world.
]]>You know all those games we were talking about potentially being the thing this year around the time that Geoff Keighley was putting on his best corporate forced smile and preparing to take to the stage at The Game Awards?
]]>I write about games for a living (lucky me, right?) and as much of a dream as that is, it has some downsides. If you can believe it. One of them is that I often don’t find games very stimulating or motivating. When you need to play something that’s not exactly to your taste as often as once a week to ensure you’re covering it correctly, you often find yourself engaging ‘work’ brain, rather than ‘fun’ brain. Pumping 50 hours into CoD in a week can be rough when you also need to spend a lot of the 9-to-5 editing, running meetings, generating reports, or yelling to colleagues about Google’s baffling new Core Update.
]]>Epic Games has announced the next guest characters to officially arrive in Fortnite, and they both hail from Night City. Both Johnny Silverhand, and female V have joined the in-game shop.
]]>I don’t believe we’ve ever covered Maniac here on VG247. In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen much coverage for it elsewhere, either. Maniac is not the sort of game that generates headlines, even if its entire gimmick is one I can’t believe no one thought of sooner.
]]>I recently realised with some alarm that I've spent nearly 2% of 2024 playing Ace Attorney. That's not just 2% of my free time or even the time I spent awake, to be clear, but a whole percentage of the time I was alive in 2024, in-game in Ace Attorney. But honestly, what can you expect in a year when five previously almost-lost games from one of my favourite series were remastered and rereleased for modern systems, literally doubling the amount of Ace Attorney accessible to contemporary audiences within the span of only eight months?
]]>Anime Card Master is a Roblox RNG game that’s all about collecting and battling with anime-inspired cards. In this game, you’ll roll for rare anime-themed cards, build the deck of your dreams, and fight other players using your rarest abilities.
]]>Duel Warriors is a Roblox game that’s full of fast-paced PvP duels. In this game, you’ll forge (or save up for) rare weapons, roll for rare abilities, and flex your flashy fighting skills in duels against other players while working your way through different quests.
]]>Notoriety is a licensed Roblox game that lets you join the PAYDAY crew on action-packed heists. In this game, you’ll pick between different contracts, team up with friends (or strangers), plan your loadout and crew, and steal as much as you can.
]]>Go Fishing is a Roblox game that’s all about becoming the best fisherman around. In this game, you’ll collect and sell rare fish, upgrade your rod, and explore new areas. However, unlike other popular fishing Roblox games like Fisch, this game has quite a few terrifying fish that wouldn’t be out of place in a horror film.
]]>No Rest for the Wicked has been one of 2024’s most interesting releases. Though it got snubbed in many end-of-year awards, it remains an incredible title with an eclectic (and clever) mix of genres.
]]>Looking back at 2024, there have obviously been a lot of fantastic games. No doubt about it - it's been a great year for pretty much anyone who loves turning on their PC, console, or phone and just throwing dozens of hours to the wind. But there is only one game that has truly astounded me this year. Not only on its own merit (a huge open world packed with mystery, secrets, and perilous dangers) but for the context outside of the game, too. Stalker 2 is a miracle game, and it deserves its flowers.
]]>The Sims 4 Lovestruck finally brings your romantically-inclined Sims into the 21st century, with the introduction of new features like dating apps and open relationships to better reflect the modern reality of dating.
]]>Larian has put out Baldur's Gate 3's last big community update of 2024, and it brings some nice news. Registration's now open for the stress test of Patch 8 that's set to take place early next year, so you you can throw your username in the hat if you wish.
]]>The second series of Amazon's Fallout TV show has already commenced filming, and even if we've still likely got plenty of time to wait until we see what Lucy, Maximus and The Ghoul get up to in New Vegas, that doesn't mean people aren't excited.
]]>The Sims 4 Life & Death expansion pack is a franchise-first, in that it introduces formal funeral events and varied emotional reactions to the death of loved ones into the world of The Sims.
]]>While the core ARPG community may be busy arguing the merits of Path of Exile 2 right now; how challenging (and sometimes downright unfair) it can be, and how much it is and isn’t like Diablo, casual players likely don’t care much about all that.
]]>Just before we all check out of 2024 and prepare for the new year, Capcom hosted one final community update to address pretty much all the major topics the recent beta of Monster Hunter Wilds generated.
]]>One of the most interesting things happening with Fallout right now, as we close out what's been a very newsworthy year for the franchise, is Fallout 76 taking a crack at letting players turn their wasteland wanderers into ghouls for the first time.
]]>“You can't see it on [the device this interview was recorded using], but my smile is very big,” lead producer Bill LaCoste says, when I ask him how he feels about the year Fallout 76 has had, in what’s generally been pretty historic 12 months for the Fallout series as a whole.
]]>I emerge from the dodgy pool filled with dodgy barrels, geiger counter screaming like a white noise machine, and take it all in.
]]>With the release of Version 1.4 of Zenless Zone Zero, the game has found itself in a sort of soft re-launch. Big changes, overhauled features, massive adjustments to combat and story missions. It's a new era for the game, one that clearly hopes to both improve the experience for loyal fans and win back those who bounced off it.
]]>Stalker 2 developer GSC Game World has been gradually working to fix as many of the bugs and issues that plagued the game at launch, and today it's relased a pretty huge swing at solving a heap of stuff. This latest patch comes with over 1,800 fixes, making it worth of being dubbed the game's "first major patch".
]]>The Sims 4 has been experimenting with limited-time events for a few years already, but 2024 saw EA seemingly settle on a formula they'd like to continue going forward. In total there were three such events in The Sims 4 over the course of the year – Happy At Home in the summer, Reaper's Rewards for Halloween, and Cozy Celebrations for Christmas – with the latter two both extending beyond log-in rewards and instead requiring you to complete some quests in order to gather up those sweet exclusive goodies.
]]>With the release of Version 1.4 of Zenless Zone Zero, a huge selection of major additions and minor tweaks and fixes were rolled out to a community of thirsty players. However, it's this thirst that's caused a bit of a backlash over the past few days, as the update brought with it a semi-block to certain camera angles that allowed players to get 'up-close shots' of their player avatar.
]]>After a good few weeks of 'will they, won't they' chatter surrounding Elden Ring and Bloodborne developer FromSoftware's parent company Kadokawa Corporation and a potential acquisition by Sony, the pair have announced a thing. It's a "strategic capital and business alliance" that's aimed at boosting collaborative ties, with Sony becoming the largest shareholder in Kadokawa.
]]>Getting your ZZZ Harumasa build together is easy and potentially free, just like Harumasa himself, as his kit means you get most of the stats he needs without a special W-Engine. Harumasa works effectively on free teams as well, and his bonus ability frees you up to experiment with more than just the usual electric or Section 6 characters. He even works well on a completely free team.
]]>In a vanishingly rare moment of consensus among a modern gaming community, I think most of us can agree that The Sims 4 is ending 2024 on a high note.
]]>You might well have forgotten about Exodus in the year since it was first revealed at The Game Awards 2023 by actor Matthew McConaughey, who's playing a mysterious "major character" in it called C.C Orlev. The good news is that about a year on, it's now gotten its first gameplay trailer, featuring action that looks like it'll appeal to those who like to bang, ok.
]]>While hype for The Witcher 4's rightly through the roof right now after it got a cool new trailer at The Game Awards last week, odds are we've still got a good while to wait before we can all head off on the path as Ciri.
]]>Putting together a strong ZZZ Miyabi build might seem daunting if you don’t get her signature W-Engine, but unlike Yanagi, Miyabi’s a lot more flexible. Not only can she make good use of other S-rank engines. She can even sweep teh field with an F2P Anomaly engine. That said, you do need to invest heavily in Anomaly Mastery to help her reach her full potential, so plan on plenty of Disc grinding.
]]>The best expansions are unmistakably grounded in their base game, but take all of their strongest ideas and distill them down into a more refined, self-contained experience which not only celebrates everything that made the original great, but takes it just that little bit further, too.
]]>Warframe 1999 is here at last and players are having a blast exploring the past, zooming around on motorbikes, and thirsting over Viktor. However, it's also probably one of the most stacked updates in terms of popular voice acting talent. Warframe has always been solid in the VO department, but with Ben Starr, Alpha Takahashi, Amelia Tyler, and Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge the bar has been lifted to a whole other level.
]]>Almost a decade ago, Warframe players were using weapons like The Tipedo to send themselves flying through the air at ludicrous speeds. This turned the mobility game on its heads, allowing folks with the dexterity to do so to quickly soar through levels. Digital Extremes, rather than remove this bug, made it a feature. Now, with Warframe 1999, it seems a similar revolution in the mobility game has happened again.
]]>Remember Lords of the Fallen? Not the original 2014 game, the sequel that came out in October last year and was fairly divisive. The game’s developer, Hexworks, never really stopped working on it.
]]>After an almost two decade long wait, an Okami sequel is finally on the way, but that isn't the only thing Hideki Kamiya has in mind at his new studio.
]]>The Witcher 4's reveal trailer was quite a looker, and it turns out CD Projekt Red is hoping it'll capture that in the full game too.

In this game, you’ll aim to unlock the rarest powers possible, which you can take to different worlds to fight enemies (and eventually some pretty difficult bosses) as you grow stronger with every punch.
]]>Anime Realms is a Roblox tower defense game full of popular characters from popular anime series like Jujutsu Kaisen, Naruto, and Dragon Ball Z. In this game, you’ll summon for new units, evolve them and unlock new traits, work your way through the game’s story mode, and eventually take on difficult challenges like the Tower of God.
]]>A Cyberpunk 2077 film isn't in the works, but if anyone decides to make one, it can rest easy knowing it's already got Idris Elba aboard.
]]>Diablo 4 is ending what’s been its best year yet on a high note with one final event that’s going to involve all players. Rather than the usual style of live event, this one features multiple tiers that can only be unlocked through the community’s collective effort.
]]>Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki is taking a backseat for Nightreign, but he did have some solid advice for the spin-offs director.
]]>A manga adaptation of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is here, the only problem is you probably won't be able to read it just yet.
]]>Some of you might have noticed that Ciri is sounding a bit different in the first trailer for The Witcher 4, and as it turns out, it's because she's been recast.
]]>Capcom had a big night at The Game Awards this week with the return of a couple classic titles, and it sounds like they won't be the last.
]]>No, Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios isn't quite ready to show off its next game just yet, but it does have a little Advent calendar for you to get through at least.
]]>Final Fantasy 7 Remake, not Rebirth, has a new patch, and it should help you speed through it ahead of the sequel's arrival on PC.

That’s a whole month of putting together outfits that will sleigh the catwalk, as well as some sleuthing, as players are also tasked with finding out where the hell Santa has vanished to.
]]>Elden Ring Nightreign was one of the big headlines at The Game Awards yesterday, as you'd expect from anything with FromSoftware's critically-acclaimed fingertips. Now, Bandai Namco has revealed that it'll be getting a network test early next year, with sign-ups starting in January.
]]>Firefly is an exceptional 5-Star character in Honkai Star Rail, provided you build her right and pair her with the most efficient of teammates that allow Firefly’s kit to shine. This means bringing along the Harmony Trailblazer, who you can fortunately get your hands on for free, and preparing to invest plenty of materials into Firefly’s abilities and Traces.
]]>
