Phys reports researchers at the University of Texas have created AI capable of passing a Turing test - fooling a human into believing they are interacting with another human. The computer scientists built a couple of Unreal Tournament 3 bots so lifelike that judges tagged both as human players 52% of the time - while actual human players usually manage about 42%. You know what that means, right? The singularity is coming. May our new machine overlords enjoy our feeble monkey efforts at fragging.
