Warning: Spoilers for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle lie ahead.
]]>I was there at The Game Awards 2024, on the ground in Los Angeles. I don’t know how it all felt and played out online, how the onslaught of ads, Muppet Interludes, and occasionally rushed awards categories worked online - but in the room, my first time experiencing that way, it totally just works. Witnessing it that way left me with only one predominant thought: god, 2024 was a pretty great year for video games.
]]>Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s Secret of Secrets mystery eases you into the action game’s puzzle-solving mechanics with some logic, but depending on how thoroughly you search the office, the Sistine Chapel safe code might elude you. Secret of Secrets also has a little joke at the end that, if you’re working on another quest at the same time, may also be a little confusing.
]]>What's this strange feeling of... optimism? Indiana Jones is good. It's better than good, it's great. So do you fancy playing it? It's on Game Pass, I mean of course it is. Just for you, I've found the best Xbox Game Pass deal today, and it's enough to make your skin melt faster than looking inside the Ark of the Covenant.
]]>To some, the name Indiana Jones conjures up images first and foremost of a professor, a genius of deciphering history and unlocking the mysteries of the ancient world. Others, bluntly, think of action: of whip cracking, and shooting swordsmen rather than engaging in one-on-one duels - or in battering a nazi’s head in atop a speeding tank. Both are right. Indy is both of those things. Which makes video games a problem.
]]>Troy Baker obviously isn't doing a pitch perfect Harrison Ford impression for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, but apparently that wasn't really the point.
]]>MachineGames has kindly offered up a deep dive into the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and it's looking good!
]]>Troy Baker is kind of everywhere, isn't he? Todd Howard probably thought the same, as we've learned he initially flat out rejected the veteran actor while looking for someone who could mimic Harrison Ford for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
]]>I hate to do it to you, but Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is one of those games that is best described through the most cliche of mediums: comparisons to other games. It’s a strange alchemy of things we know from elsewhere, mashed together into a unique, new form. I sort-of love it.
]]>I'm all over the place when it comes to my thoughts on Sony's PS5 Pro. I want one, but I also can't do the financial calculations to justify buying one, even though I expect I'd save a whole load of mental energy if I just bite the bullet and get on with my life. Regardless of my own actions, many people will buy a PS5 Pro, and I expect a good chunk of those people might be Xbox Series X owners looking for the most powerful console on the market. Without Xbox releasing an Xbox One X equivalent for this generation, tech-hungry Xbox fans are left with only one choice: Abandon Xbox.
]]>Indiana Jones and the Great Circle might be first-person, but that doesn't mean MachineGames is making it an outright shooter.
]]>Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is now confirmed to be arriving on PS5 in spring 2025, not long after it initially releases later this year as a timed exclusive. That was set in stone - following plenty of reports and rumours - during yesterday's Gamescom Opening Night Live, and now Xbox boss Phil Spencer's said some thing about what went into the decision to bring the game to Sony's consoles.
]]>Indiana Jones and the Great Circle developers MachineGames, with help from Geoff Keighly , finally gave the people what they wanted: a treasure trove of release info as part of Gamescom Opening Night Live! Alongside a new trailer came a release date for PC and Xbox, the news that the game will be playable day one on Game Pass, and — the wildcard — the reveal that Indy's upcoming adventure will be the next Xbox game to hit PlayStation (eventually).
]]>Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is reportedly set to arrive in PS5 not long after it initially releases later this year as a timed exclusive. Yep, it's looking like the game about exploring crypts, punching Nazis and doing those same things in the opposite order may well be the next title to go multiplatform as part of that new strategy Xbox has begun employing in 2024.
]]>Here’s how things stand re Xbox: strictly speaking, there’s no longer any such thing as an Xbox exclusive, and that’s been the case for a while now. Its console exclusives are all proudly coming to PC. Xbox is a brand of consumer gaming hardware, yes, the box that sits under your TV, but it’s also a Windows app, an Android app, and it’s part of a much larger game publishing portfolio that Microsoft runs, as much as it makes sense to, as a platform agnostic enterprise. It puts games on Switch and PlayStation. It even funnels games directly to your TV, bypassing the need for a console entirely. Does that mean there’s no longer any reason to own an Xbox? Well, that depends entirely on you. Xbox is the American games platform and the American USP, for better or worse, is choice.
]]>Bethesda and MachineGames offered up a fresh look at Indiana Jones and the Great Circle today.
]]>Good news, that special Xbox podcast featuring an update on the console maker’s future plans took place last night. In just over 13 hours, it’s racked up about 2.3 times as many comments as it has seconds in length, which is a bit interesting to think about, if nothing else.
]]>Following a bad week to be on Twitter if you’re not a fan of arguing with people about video game boxes, the big update on Xbox’s future plans that Phil Spencer mentioned now has a concrete time and date. It’s coming via a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. Yes.

]]>There is a massive selection of brilliant games available on PlayStation Plus, for both those with the trusty PlayStation 4 or a brand new PlayStation 5.
]]>Halloween is right around the corner, and I don’t know about any of you, but it’s definitely one of my favourite holidays of the year. Mainly because, unlike Christmas (in which I rarely get to relax, let alone boot up a game), it’s the perfect excuse for me to kick back and chill out with my favourite genre of game, and that’s horror.
]]>We learned last year that modern Wolfenstein developer MachineGames is working on a project based on the Indiana Jones IP. Though the project was revealed by Bethesda in a teaser video on Twitter back in 2021, we know precious little else about the game.
