With Hideki Kamiya no longer working at PlatinumGames, the Bayonetta series will likely move on without him - and he might be taking his ideas for more games "to the grave."
]]>PlatinumGames has announced that Hideki Kamiya, director of games like Bayonetta, is leaving the developer next month.
]]>Turns out the recently revealed Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon had a playable teaser hidden within Bayonetta 3 all along.
]]>Bayonetta 3 took quite a while to come out as we all know, and that's partially because the game was originally scoped as a semi-open world game.
]]>There is a lot to do in Bayonetta 3 – whether it's the main story, the bonus content you unlock once you've finished the game, the mini-games you can unlock en route, or just the various difficulties you can play the title on, PlatinumGames' latest title has a lot to offer. But there's one thing you may notice as you play that isn't very well explained in-game: Bewitchments.
]]>In Bayonetta 3 you will collect Umbran Tears of Blood from three witch-y familiars as you prgoress through the game; Cats, Frogs, and Crows. Depending on how you play, you may find each of these easier to collect than others. The vast majority of main levels in the game will have all three of these creatures.
]]>If you’ve been on this site over the past week, you’ll know I’ve been banging the drum for Bayonetta 3 pretty hard. Some story niggles aside (who plays this for the story!?), Bayonetta 3 is a nigh-perfect game. The action, the combat, the over-the-top humor – it all comes together to make a game that is right up there with Platinum’s best.
]]>Mario, Kirby, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Samus Aran, Bayonetta. The witch has made it to the upper echelons of the Nintendo elite with Bayonetta 3, and any doubt about her status as mascot character for the House of Mario has been dissolved in a cauldron, fizzing with demon blood, keratin, and rocket fuel. With the chant of an incantation and the click of a delicately gloved finger, Bayonetta 3 secures the Umbran Witch as a Nintendo icon – maybe even usurping some of the more… family-friendly… faces in the roster in the process. Bayonetta 3, Switch owners, is essential.
]]>Former Bayonetta voice actor Hellena Taylor has elaborated on her original series of videos and claims regarding her absence from Bayonetta 3’s lead VO role, which appears to confirm findings made by Jason Schrier at Bloomberg last week. This includes confirmation that she was indeed offered $15,000 initially, rather than the originally implied $4,000 figure.
]]>Hellena Taylor, the original voice actor of PlatinumGames' Bayonetta, has called for a boycott of the game after alleging she received an "insulting" pay offer for the role.
]]>PlatinumGames hasn’t exactly had the hottest streak lately. Babylon’s Fall was an exemplary lesson in how not to do a service game, it lost the job of making Granblue Fantasy: Relink to Cygames back in 2019, and even Astral Chain failed to really get the traction you’d see from keystone series like Bayonetta or Nier. The studio, regrettably, has been stuck in a rut.

]]>When most people picture the Wii U, they remember a Fisher Price-looking disappointment. Yet, for action gaming connoisseurs, it’s the console that Trojan Horsed the best game of 2014 into our lives. I am, of course, talking about the breath-takingly bizarre Bayonetta 2.
]]>Bayonetta 3 is the next installment of the action-adventure series created by Hideki Kamiya and developed by PlatinumGames. It follows on from the events and gameplay of Bayonetta 2 while bringing in lots of new mysteries to unfold.
]]>After rocket-sliding toward an enemy, you kickflip off them to chain multiple mid-air headshots. Then, you toss a grenade at a sniper nest, vaulting over cover to detonate the explosive with a well-timed bullet. An answering rocket barrage sends you sliding along the ground as missiles fly overhead, swapping out to a sniper rifle to pull off a trickshot in transit. All of which takes place in slow-motion, of course.
]]>Yes, you've read correctly: this afternoon, Nintendo revealed the time and date of the next Nintendo Direct livestream, which will air on February 9. The first show of the year finally has an official date, some 132 days after the last proper Direct took to the air (no, the Animal Crossing one from October 2021 does not count).

]]>We'll never get to play Scalebound, but at least we're likely to see how some features from the game would have played out had the doomed Xbox exclusive ever actually released.
]]>Announced in 2017, Bayonetta 3 will finally arrive on Switch next year.
