Personally I find it increasingly rare that I actually play a triple-A game that delivers on the promise of its scope, but Nintendo's latest outing has successfully done so. There is just… so much to do, and so much of it is worth doing. Side quests feel like worthwhile endeavours rather than meandering distractions, the new abilities are busted beyond belief, and the main story itself hooked me quickly. Obviously, there's an easy argument to be made that this is the game of the year. But I just hope that whatever Zelda game Nintendo makes next, it's nothing like Tears of the Kingdom.

Speaking with MCV, product manager Roger Langford said now was the "perfect time" for Zelda fans to discover Wii U, and for many, this will be the "first time that they’ll discover Wind Waker and we’re treating the game as a triple-A new release.” The firm is hoping the upgraded title will match the success of Ocarina of Time on 3DS. A Wii U Deluxe bundle for Wind Waker HD, which comes with a digital download of the title and a GamePad decorated in Hyrule symbols and script, is now available for $299.99.
