The Nier series is hitting its 15th anniversary next year, and while a new game hasn't been confirmed just yet, the games' producer might have teased something for 2025.
]]>If you've been glued to the Paris Olympics as of late, and consider yourself a keen fan of action RPGs from the past few years, you ears probably perked up during the artistic swimming last night. That's because that the Japanese team competing in that event decided to pair their performance with a certain song from Nier Automata of all things.
]]>Nier: Automata Ver 1.1a, the anime adaptation of the beloved Square Enix game, is finally coming back this July.
]]>It feels somewhat hard to believe that it's been seven years since Nier: Automata released, and yet somehow that time has gone by in the blink of an eye. I think the more confusing thing is the fact that Square Enix somehow hasn't let Yoko Taro and co make a fully fledged sequel, despite the fact it's managed to sell 8,000,000 copies to date, even resulting in an amped-up remaster of the original game. Sure, there's the mobile game, but that's dead now, so I can't help but feel that there's a bit of a Nier-shaped hole in my heart at the moment.
]]>Ok. So, Yoko Taro and a couple of the other key people behind the NieR games have cheekily teased a new project that they're working on together, very much leaving it up in the air as to whether the thing is related to NieR or not. Seriously, the quote even has the word 'laughs' in it in brackets, who knows what they're cooking.
]]>Yu Miyake, a member of Square Enix who has overseen the development of a number of Dragon Quest games since joining the publisher all the way back in 1992, is reportedly set to step down from his position as a producer on the series, after some delays in the creation of the next entry in it.
]]>As long as Yoko Taro isn't pulling our leg, it's increasingly looking like another Nier game is on the way. Whether that's Nier 3, or Nier 4 if you count Reincarnation (and you should, because Taro himself certainly seems to), no one knows just yet, though the recent hints suggest the word "repent" could fit somewhere in there. That's all fine and dandy, potentially exciting even, I love Nier! But (of course there's a but), the thing I'd really love to see most from Taro, is a return to his lesser known but equally interesting series, Drakengard.
]]>After a long wait of no news, it's finally been confirmed that the Nier: Automata anime is finally returning some time this year.
]]>You love 2B, we love 2B. Who doesn't love 2B? Well, if you consider yourself a fan of the excellent action RPG Nier Automata, and fancy giving a brilliant fighting game some love, then you'll be happy to hear that 2B has made herself a home in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. She is downloadable right now, as a brand-new DLC character.
]]>We haven't had a full on sequel to 2017's Nier Automata just yet, but the series' producer has promised more is on the way.
]]>The best story-based games are ageless. While gameplay can become clunky with the passing of time, an enthralling narrative is just as gripping whether it came out in 2004 or 2024.
]]>After only airing three episodes, the Nier: Automata anime adaptation has postponed production due to a COVID-19 related issue.
]]>An all-new trailer for the NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime has been revealed by Square Enix and Aniplex, finally confirming the show's release date for us. While we already expected the anime to arrive in January 2023, this new trailer has confirmed that fans only have until January 7 to wait for the show to begin airing.
]]>Admittedly, my expectations for NieR: Automata on the Nintendo Switch were quite low. I love Nintendo’s handheld more than most, picking it up near enough every day, but I’m also quite accustomed to it’s limited performance capabilities (as anyone that picked up Dark Souls on the platform will tell you).
]]>The first proper trailer for the Nier: Automata anime has been released, as well as setting a release date for this January.
]]>That mysterious Nier: Automata church that ended up being a genuinely impressive mod is now available for everyone to download, so get your praying knees ready.
]]>The great Nier: Automata church mystery of 2022 has finally been solved, and it turns out it really was an intricate mod.
]]>When the original Nier came out in the forgotten year of 2010, one of the more common complaints were the side quests: they were long, often grindy, and not particularly engaging, making it more frustrating that some of them have weapons hidden away inside them that were necessary to get all of the endings.
]]>As part of today's third-party-focused Nintendo Direct, Square Enix announced that Nier Automata is in development for the Switch. This won't be a cloud-based version as we've been seeing recently, and will instead run natively on the console.
]]>PCGamesN reports that in a Christmas video to fans, Nier and Drakengard creator Yoko Taro declared the Nier series finished, pending being given a lot of money to continue it.
]]>A new patch for Nier: Automata addresses long-suffered issues and adds support for 4K and HDR.
]]>Nier Reincarnation, the mobile RPG spin-off coming to Android and iOS, will launch later this month – and you can get bonus items if you pre-register.
]]>Looks like the review bombings on Steam may have worked - Nier: Automata is finally getting a patch.
]]>Square Enix's mistakes with the original PC release of Nier Automata are coming back to haunt it.
]]>The PlayStation 4 is by far the best-selling console of this generation, and there's one good reason for that: video games. When it comes to games, PS4 has led the pack this entire gen.
