A good Genshin Impact Citlali build has one thing at its center: elemental mastery. Citlali needs it more than any other stat, and the good thing about that is you can get a free 4-star catalyst that buffs elemental mastery – no fiddling with the weapons banner required. Citlali’s kit includes a passive buff that raises her damage by a hefty amount of her mastery, so stack as much of it on her as you can.
]]>The right Genshin Impact Mavuika build is refreshingly straightfowrard to put together, thanks to the Pyro Archon’s unique kit. Mavuika doesn’t need much to work well – just some extra attack and a bit of crit damage. What’s more important is putting her in the right team. Mavuika’s burst needs are different from every other character in Genshin Impact, so far anyway, and her nature as a Pyro sub-DPS means she works in far more team varieties than most Pyro characters since the game launched.
]]>HoYoverse unveiled the Honkai Star Rail 3.0 banners, and all I can say is good lord. The Herta – Herta’s actual, human form, not just the puppet – makes her debut alongside Aglaea, the first character from Amphoreus. The Remembrance Trailblazer is also a thing, but we knew all of this was happening already. What we didn’t know is that HoYoverse is putting six big reruns on these banners as well. That’s rough for free-to-play players, of course, but it’s rather a strain for those who just drop some money on the game from time to time as well, what with the annual Shard top-up still being a few months away.
]]>Happy new year, Honkai Star Rail fans! Did you have some nice R&R away from your favourite gacha? If so, sit back down and get ready for a major in-game update buddy, as the developers at HoYoverse have announced the release date for the version 3.0 Paean of Era Nova update.
]]>With the release of Version 1.4 of Zenless Zone Zero, the game has found itself in a sort of soft re-launch. Big changes, overhauled features, massive adjustments to combat and story missions. It's a new era for the game, one that clearly hopes to both improve the experience for loyal fans and win back those who bounced off it.
]]>With the release of Version 1.4 of Zenless Zone Zero, a huge selection of major additions and minor tweaks and fixes were rolled out to a community of thirsty players. However, it's this thirst that's caused a bit of a backlash over the past few days, as the update brought with it a semi-block to certain camera angles that allowed players to get 'up-close shots' of their player avatar.
]]>Getting your ZZZ Harumasa build together is easy and potentially free, just like Harumasa himself, as his kit means you get most of the stats he needs without a special W-Engine. Harumasa works effectively on free teams as well, and his bonus ability frees you up to experiment with more than just the usual electric or Section 6 characters. He even works well on a completely free team.
]]>Putting together a strong ZZZ Miyabi build might seem daunting if you don’t get her signature W-Engine, but unlike Yanagi, Miyabi’s a lot more flexible. Not only can she make good use of other S-rank engines. She can even sweep teh field with an F2P Anomaly engine. That said, you do need to invest heavily in Anomaly Mastery to help her reach her full potential, so plan on plenty of Disc grinding.
]]>Firefly is an exceptional 5-Star character in Honkai Star Rail, provided you build her right and pair her with the most efficient of teammates that allow Firefly’s kit to shine. This means bringing along the Harmony Trailblazer, who you can fortunately get your hands on for free, and preparing to invest plenty of materials into Firefly’s abilities and Traces.
]]>Gallagher is one of many 4-Star characters in Honkai Star Rail, but he’s one of few that is well worth using right now. He’s able to be slotted into multiple teams as a versatile support character who can dish out Break damage, and more importantly, he’s a key player in the meta Super Break team involving Firefly.
]]>Ruan Mei is a brilliant support character in Honkai Star Rail, if not one of the best. The Ice-wielding scholar has some of the most useful buffs in the game, with little to no downtime, and she is the only character who can increase the Break Efficiency of her team.
]]>The Harmony Trailblazer in Honkai Star Rail is good fun to use in battle. Their kit, which is accompanied by plenty of dancing and jovial music, is capable of dishing out both single-target and AoE damage, while their ultimate can buff the Break Effect of allies.
]]>HoYoverse announced the ZZZ 1.4 banners during the version 1.4 livestream, and while there weren’t any surprises, there was a welcome confirmation. Anyone who logs in during ZZZ 1.4 can grab a free S-rank character, as HoYoverse did with Dr Ratio in Honkai Star Rail, and you’ll even get the materials necessary for ranking him up to level 40. That means not having to spend hundreds of energy charges just to get the necessary level-up materials, and you can save on talent chips too.
]]>The ZZZ 1.4 livestream is coming up fast, as HoYoverse gets ready to show off the next chapter in its punk saga. Hoshimi Miyabi makes her long-awaited debut, and we may even get some news about that longstanding rumor of a free 5-star character in the next update – though if it’s like HSR’s Dr Ratio, that might have to wait until The Game Awards.
]]>A good Honkai Star Rail Sunday build is open and flexible and even includes a 5-star Light Cone you can get without relying on gacha. Sunday needs a few specific stats to function well, though a combination of his minor Trace nodes and Relic sets that match his needs quite well means it shouldn't be too much of a grind to get what you need.
]]>The HSR support pool is getting a bit crowded, now that Sunday is storming onto the scene with a kit that’s remarkably similar to Bronya’s and Sparkle’s at first glance. Sunday has a lot to offer, especially with Remembrance just around the corner, though if you've already got a well-built Bronya, the need for him gets a bit less urgent.
]]>Lighter punches things, so a good ZZZ Lighter build just needs to make the most of those punches. Despite a high stat ceiling to get his best buffs for the party, Lighter’s stat and W-Engine requirements are comparatively tame. He’s an excellent Stun support member for any team that needs one and doubly so if that team has a Fire or Ice main DPS.
]]>HoYoverse announced the Honkai Star Rail 2.7 release date in the RPG’s latest livestream and previewed what’s ahead, including the Penacony finale and a new home decorating mode. There’s the usual set of new character banners as well, along with some smaller events – another photography expedition with March 7 and the chance to get a free 5-star character of your choosing from the general banner.
]]>HoYoverse aired the big Honkai Star Rail 2.7 livestream and showed off who’s inbound in the HSR 2.7 banners. Sunday – the same Sunday who’s antics played merry havoc with Penacony earlier in the 2.X updates – is making his debut, and Tingyun – Fugue brings an old friend back to life. These banners likely come as no surprise if you keep up with the drip marketing, but we did get to see some of their skills in action, along with some story context in the version’s official trailer.
]]>Putting together a good Genshin Impact Chasca build is easier than you might think, thanks to the 5-star Anemo character’s straightforward kit. Chasca needs attack and crit damage, and that’s about it. However, you’ll need to think a bit more carefully about the team you build around her. Chasca’s kit works best without the usual Anemo supports, and certain elements won’t do her any favors.
]]>HoYoverse might be gearing up to set Sunday and Tingyun – Fugue, whom I affectionately call Fugueyun or Deadyun (IYKYK), loose in Honkai Star Rail, but that hasn’t stopped them from teasing HSR 3.0’s characters already. First up was The Herta, a 5-star variant of the Herta puppet that’s been present at launch with an impressive hat and, surprisingly, the same path and element as her 4-star version – Ice and Erudition. That’s exciting.
]]>Putting together an effective Honkai Star Rail Aventurine build takes one thing – defense, and plenty of it. Aventurine’s kit has a lot of pieces, but the most important thing he does is shield the entire party. Those shields scale on defense and often don’t even require a skill point to activate, so with the right setup, you could feasibly keep the entire party safe while only occasionally firing off Aventurine’s skill.
]]>Putting together the best Acheron build in Honkai Star Rail seems fairly straightforward, thanks to the Emanator’s unique spin on the path of Nihility. However, the way Acheron’s kit works means she needs no effect hit rate, and that limits the choices of viable Light Cones rather a lot. Acheron might’ve been on the scene for a while now, but HoYoverse hasn’t added many new – and no free – Light Cones that match her abilities.
]]>The Genshin Impact 5.2 banners carry on Natlan’s pattern of disrupting how Genshin works, with a new 5-star Anemo character who can use other elements and trigger Swirl alone. There’s also Ororon, the brooding emo man and the Traveler’s friend in the Night-Wind Clan. He’s got good reason to brood, to be fair, seeing as folks told him his soul was damaged his entire life and he wanted to die. Y’know, normal things.
]]>HoYoverse announced the Genshin Impact 5.2 release date during the RPG’s latest livestream, and the new version update has quite a few shakeups in store. For one thing, Natlan’s Archon quest is breaking with tradition and including an Interlude chapter in the middle of the numbered chapters. There’s a new 4-star whose playstyle opens new possibilities for crowd control and an Anemo 5-star with a gun that fires multi-elemental bullets. Take that, Sucrose.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero is gettings its much-awaited 1.2 update later this month, which is promising to bring a variety of new and exciting content to the game. But, revealed earlier today through a lenghty "face-to-face" video, the team has also announced that it's bringing out of the best quality of life features from Honkai Star Rail to the game, among other nice tweaks.
]]>Big news from China, as eagle-eyed HoYoverse/MiYoHo fans have spotted a new WeChat account registered by the company that might just point to an incoming game announcement from the gacha giant. This new game, the much-rumoured Stardev Valley style title, has been a ghost haunting the gacha space for some time now, but with official social media accounts for the game seemingly out in the world, we might be seeing some official announcements in the near future.
]]>In case you're not in the know, Zenless Zone Zero is due its next big content update that's taking us to the Outer Rim. To celebrate, HoYoVerse has released a slick new cinematic to mark the event. It features the entire Sons of Calydon gang in all their glory, as well as a shower scene to cap it all off. Obviously.
]]>You have a lot of options for putting together a strong Genshin Impact Kinich build, and some of his best teammates are characters you either likely have already or can get for free. Kinich is a main-DPS whose kit scales on attack and whose Nightsoul Blessing ability powers up when the right elemental reaction is present. That’s it. That’s all you need – plenty of attack and a touch of fire.
]]>You have a few options to pick from when making your Honkai Star Rail Feixiao build. The 5-star Hunt character is designed around follow-up attacks, but there's more than one Relic set that helps her reach her full potential and plenty of viable Light Cone options, including some that don't rely on the Light Cone banner.
]]>He might be a Scion of the Canopy, but finding your Kinich materials in Genshin Impact takes you across northern Natlan and underground. Kinich uses a cluster of items you'll find in the Sulfurous Vein area, along with Saurian items and a little something the Yumkasaur world boss drops - convenient, seeing as the Yumkasaur also drops Dendro stones.
]]>UPDATE (04/09/24, 4:00 PM BST): HoYoverse has provided VG247 with the following statement: "Genshin Impact is a free-to-play game. You do not need to purchase Game Pass Ultimate or Core to play the game in Co-Op Mode. Players with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription can receive in-game bundles upon the game's launch and after subsequent version updates, as well as play Genshin Impact on Xbox Cloud Gaming."
]]>Finding Genshin Impact Quenepa Berry locations is a breeze compared to some of Fontaine's local specialties, though there are still a few wrinkles, even if you use the in-game item finder. Some of them are locked behind a world quest, while others aren't exactly where the current maps say they should be. We've done the hard work so you don't have to, though.
]]>Genshin Impact's 5.0 update - which takes players to the new region of Natlan - is probably the game at its most gorgeous. Inauma was pretty nice when it first came out, especially the walk up to Tenshukaku. Sumeru raised the bar yet again. But Natlan has shattered such expectations. For the first time ever, I'm playing Genshin Impact just to look around.
]]>The best Genshin Impact Kachina build focuses on just a couple of stats, as this excellent 4-star character needs little else to shine. Kachina’s skills scale with defense, and her kit works just as well in a damage role as it does in a support role, if you have the right Artifacts.
]]>The best Genshin Impact Mualani build makes the numbers go up with minimal effort, thanks to this Natlan character’s excellent and flexible kit. Mualani uses normal attacks to deal the most damage and has built-in crit rate support, so all you need is the right team and plenty of HP to help increase her damage multipliers.
]]>Genshin Impact Nightsoul is a new mechanic exclusive to Natlan and, more importantly, Natlan characters such as Mualani. Nightsoul has three components: Nightsoul’s Blessing, Nightsoul Burst, and Nightsoul Transmission. Nightsoul effects power up certain talents depending on who’s in your party at the time, and some characters can only use their skills when they enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state. You need Nightsoul Points to make Nightsoul’s Blessing work, and in the absence of those, you can sometimes use Phlogiston to replace Nightsoul Points.
]]>How to get to Natlan in Genshin Impact is, thankfully, a more straightforward process than HoYoverse followed for some of the RPG’s earlier regions. Anyone can reach the land of fire – after they clear Genshin’s prologue in Mondstadt, at least – and you don’t even have to finish the Fontaine and Sumeru stories to get started with the Natlan Archon quests. It’s a convenient setup, and more convenient still is the handy little teleport waypoint that’ll pop up at one of Natlan’s entrances so you can start exploring right away.
]]>The Genshin Impact 5.0 release times are just around the corner. In just a few hours, you can expect Genshin to go offline while HoYoverse adds Natlan, a new set of Archon quests, and a whole lot more to the RPG, and as always, it’ll stay offline – and, ergo, unplayable – for several hours. HoYoverse only gives its times in UTC, a timezone most people don’t use as a reference, but we’ve broken down the Genshin Impact 5.0 maintenance times and release times below to make life easier.
]]>A good Jiaoqiu build in Honkai Star Rail might look a bit different than you’d expect after seeing how his kit works. Jiaoqiu needs effect hit rate to perform well, but he has so many sources of that stat that you don’t have to prioritize it over everything else. He also doesn’t benefit from the usual DOT builds, since it takes a while for him to apply the maximum stacks of his debuff on foes.
]]>Jiaoqiu's kit in Honkai Star Rail might look familiar if you’ve been around long enough to have Guinaifen on your team.
]]>With its fourth anniversary rapidly approaching, Genshin Impact is finally set to launch on Xbox. HoYoverse's flagship gacha title released in September 2020 for PC, mobile, and PlayStation 4, with a PS5 port coming in hot a few months later. But despite persistent rumours that it would soon become available on other platforms, this is the first time there's been anything approaching official confirmation.
]]>The Genshin Impact 5.0 release date is just around the corner, and Natlan is only part of HoYoverse’s big plans for the RPG. Story quests are getting a regional overhaul in an effort to tie important characters more closely with the world around them, there’s a new World Level, a confusing new change to how 50/50 chances work on featured banners, and best of all, a new way to customize Artifacts so you actually get the stat you want. Literally a game changer.
]]>HoYoverse unveiled the Genshin Impact 5.0 banners during the RPG’s big Natlan livestream, and as you probably expected after all the Natlan teasers, the first round of characters include Mualani, Kachina, and Kinich. What’s new this time is that we actually know a bit about how they work.
]]>Genshin Impact version 5.0 - the next major update set to bring a new region to the game - will release worldwide on August 29. In addition, new characters as well as an archon quest, events, and slick new traversal abilities are coming too for players who jump into the new content.
]]>A good Zenless Zone Zero Qingyi build is easy to put together thanks to Qingyi’s versatile kit that works with several easy-to-obtain W-Engines. She needs Impact, like most stun agents, but she’s also powerful enough to warrant keeping her on the field while your main DPS – ideally a burst damage dealer – is off-burst or on cooldown.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero is due some more characters in the Sons of Calydon faction right? If you agree, then you're in luck. HoYoverse has teased the introduction of not one, but two new additions to the biker gang. With this tease, you can expect them to land in the game within the coming months, after version 1.1 wraps up.
]]>Emilie’s kit in Genshin Impact lets her function in multiple roles depending on the team she's in. The 5-star Dendro character can take the stage as your main DPS or support someone else - ideally a Pyro someone else - with Dendro application.
]]>A good Genshin Impact Emilie build is much more straightforward to put together than you might be used to with the RPG’s other Dendro characters. Emilie’s kit only scales with attack, so even though she benefits from a few other stats as well, you only have to work towards attack - a fairly common substat you get on most Artifact rolls, sometimes even twice.
]]>I don't think we need to worry about Zenless Zone Zero, as it's taken home almost $100 million since launching a month ago, but that's definitely not MiHoYo's best.
]]>Like the Trailblazer's various versions, March 7th Hunt is a new form of an existing character in Honkai Star Rail: as opposed to Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, who the game treats as a completely separate character from Dan Heng's regular form, allowing them to be on teams together (yay) but forcing you to grind for their levelling materials completely separately (boo). So you'll have to choose which version of March you want in action at any given time, but at least you'll get to carry your base levelling progress over from her Preservation form.
]]>Honkai Star Rail's March 7th Hunt kit puts a nifty little spin on the path's usual combat style, with some elements of support and a moving pieces that changes depending on what paths March 7th's allies follow. You'll need to level March 7th's Hunt Traces even if you fully leveled Preservation March's, though she'll still remain atthe same character level regardless of path - no need to re-ascend her.
]]>A good Honkai Star Rail Yunli build gives your team a powerful follow-up attacker who can tank and even heal herself – all without using her signature Light Cone. Yunli is essentially an enhanced Clara, and some of those enhancements, including her skill, reduce how much extra care you have to put in her build. If you’re not sure what Yunli does, head over to our Yunli kit explainer and materials list for the full details.
]]>Honkai Star Rail's Yunli kit might look a little familiar, if you've spent time with a certain other 5-star physical Destruction character, and the selection of Yunli materials is familiar, too. Since she's another Xianzhou character, Yunli uses Artifex items and Regret of Infinite Ochema for her Traces, so if you've been playing for a while, you might already have a lot of what you need.
]]>The right Zenless Zone Zero Zhu Yuan build is pretty easy to put together, even if you don’t have the S-rank Agent’s signature W-Engine. Zhu Yuan is a flexible burst damage dealer whose attacks power up when she uses assists, specials, and counters, which means you don’t even have to focus on energy regen to make her kit work well. That ease of use is a big bonus, especially considering the lack of viable party members in ZZZ’s launch version.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero maintains its iron-grip on the gacha genre and gaming industry as a whole, but while most players are at home having fun on their PCs or mobile phones, one player has taken it to another level. As posted on Reddit, user MiamiUkrainian has managed to get the game running on an old school CRT.
]]>The best Zenless Zone Zero Ben build turns one of the game's most awkward characters into a useful support unit who smashes and saves in equal measure. This free ZZZ character is the first - and only - defense Agent in ZZZ's launch version, and even though it seems like HoYoverse isn't quite sure what to do with him yet, any party can make good use of his kit.
]]>A good Genshin Impact Navia build is something you can put together even without the 5-star Geo character’s signature weapon, and her teams are even easier to create. Navia is a fantastic attacker who works as a sub-DPS or a main DPS, depending on your party needs, and all you need to make her skills shine is a few extra elements floating around.
]]>The live-service bubble has been bursting for a while. That much is clear. But with how long most triple-A (and even double-AA) video games take to make nowadays and how absurdly huge the possible wins are, it comes as no surprise it's taking a bit of time to partially retreat from a model that's grown increasingly risky in the last three years or so. This summer, a handful of free-to-play titles such as The First Descendant and Zenless Zone Zero are making a splash, but we're still looking at the same big issue.
]]>HoYoverse loves a game-within-a-game, especially if said mini-games subtly portray its characters gambling but that's cool and fun and has no possible problematic implications. Which is perhaps to be expected from a company whose games are monetised primarily via gachas, but Zenless Zone Zero's scratch cards are still an unusually blunt example of this phenomenon.
]]>The best Zenless Zone Zero Corin build turns a free ZZZ character into a frilly little powerhouse. Corin’s a bit slow and clunky compared to other characters, but leaning into her unique qualities and pairing her with the right Agents smoothes over her rough points and makes her much more useful.
]]>Like its predecessors from HoYoverse, Zenless Zone Zero features dozens — maybe even hundreds, eventually — of in-game achievements that net you some desirable gacha currencies when you ping them. And, just as with other HoYoverse games, the PlayStation 5 version of Zenless Zone Zero translates a select few of those achievements into the platform's signature Trophies, too.
]]>The right Zenless Zone Zero Lucy build turns the piggy support kid into a proper little fireball. Lucy is a unique support character in that her kit has some explosive damage potential, literally and metaphorically, and unlike Soukaku, her buffs work for everyone – not just Agents of a specific type.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero's Bangboos are essentially the fourth member of your combat squad, and although you can't directly control them most of the time, their skills can be every bit as useful as those of your human (or, well, humanoid) Agents. Bangboos look like anime-stylised bunny plushies and exist in-universe as robot helpers marketed for domestic and industrial use, but they're also used by ZZZ's Proxies as conveniently corruption-resistant exploration units to accompany raiding parties into the Hollows.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero has a roster of wacky and distinct characters for you to get to know and use in battle, and some of them definitely pack more of a punch than others. Take the fiery Koleda of Belobog Industries, for example, who is capable of quickly stunning enemies and dishing out lots of damage while doing so.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero has an array of distinct Agents, all hailing from different factions, with various attributes, and specific roles within a team. And while some of the best Agents - such as the star of ZZZ’s first premium banner, Ellen - are locked behind never-ending Signal Searches, you can get the A Rank demon that is Soukaku for free.
]]>A good Zenless Zone Zero Nicole build gives your party a competent – and free – support character who helps your strongest fighter shred even the toughest of foes. Nicole isn’t much for dealing damage herself, but she debuffs targets with her passive and groups mobs together so her teammates can slice through them with ease.
]]>Putting together your Zenless Zone Zero Billy build is, like the A-rank gunslinger himself, pretty straightforward. Billy has few needs and a simple kit that doesn’t get into the fancy combos and attack patterns that other attack Agents make use of, and while that means he might not be the best choice for long in ZZZ, he’s one of the best Agents to learn how the game works.
]]>Keen-eyed Zenless Zone Zero players might have noticed that their account features not only a friends list, but a log you can fill up with recent multiplayer encounters. And, given that ZZZ is pretty clearly a single-player game for the main part, you might be wondering just how you and your buddies can meet up in-game for a spot of co-op.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero is the latest gacha RPG from HoYoverse, a studio who've accumulated quite a stable of them by this point. While Zenless Zone Zero does a great job of standing on its own, HoYo have clearly anticipated that long-time fans might need a bit of incentive to get them to put down their other live service titles long enough to check this one out. Hence, the promise of 180 free pulls in Version 1.0.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero is the third game from gacha RPG specialists HoYoverse to receive a full English-language dub, and so far it's kept up the studio's tradition of featuring wall-to-wall solid voice performances. However, this time around HoYo only announced the full Japanese voice cast ahead of time, despite the game also being available at launch in Chinese, Korean, and English.
]]>Initial Zenless Zone Zero revenue figures are out, and it looks like HoYoverse' latest gacha release is raking in heaps of cash. According to App Magic - a website that tracks mobile game revenue - the game has made over $25 million not even a week since its launch.
]]>Cat girls, wolf boys, and even grizzly bears; Zenless Zone Zero has a very vibrant array of agents for you to unlock via its gacha system and play around with in battles against unruly Ethereals. The star of ZZZ’s first premium banner, though, is shark girl Ellen.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero has announced its first post-launch character: Seth! A member of the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team faction, we've yet to see what they can do in-action at the moment. Instead, this reveal has come with a bit of art and a voice actor announcement.
]]>Are you creatively minded? Do you have a basic idea of fashion sense, know what colours go together, or know how to properly shade a picture? If so, you might be in for a chance of winning some cash, courtesy of HoYoVerse and the Zenless Zone Zero Drip Fest.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero has been out for just under a week, and already we've seen numerous players take to training mode and try out various interesting routes for lush looking combos.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero is off to a very strong start, as it hasn't even been a week, but the game has managed to hit 50 million downloads globally.
]]>The best Zenless Zone Zero Anby build gives your team a strong daze fighter who’s easy to buff and fits into most situations. She’s one of Zenless Zone Zero’s free characters, and she even gets a free, useful weapon as part of the game’s tutorial. If you want to redeem your free S-rank on someone other than a Stun character, Anby’s a solid alternative to fill that slot and support whoever it is you do pick.
]]>If you love a bit of cheeky drama between game companies, a little bit of cross-corporate banter, then today is a good day! Alchemy Stars, a popular Level Infinite gacha game, has sent out an in-game mail that subtly points to some interesting comparisons to characters featured in HoYoVerse's Zenless Zone Zero.
]]>Gacha games like Zenless Zone Zero are the digital descendents of gachapon machines: you put money in, and hope that what you get in return is the thing you wanted, rather than a dud or something you've got a dozen copies of already. Your mileage may vary as to whether a gacha is the main attraction or a regrettable reality of modern game monetisation; but either way, sooner or later, chances are you're going to want a new character or weapon that only the gacha can provide.
]]>As a gacha game, Zenless Zone Zero plans to make its bank by releasing loads and loads of really good characters you'll be just itching to play as. But in order to describe ZZZ as free-to-play with a semi-clear conscience — and to sweeten you up so that you like the game enough to hopefully want to pay for it in the future — HoYoverse will be periodically loading your account up with free characters, especially during the all-important Version 1.0 launch period.
]]>Like most RPGs of its type, Zenless Zone Zero opens with a simple choice of playable character. While the focus in games monetised via gachas is very much on building up huge rosters of increasingly strong units, you do still need a nominal protagonist, after all, and that's what this decision is about. In many cases, it's a straightforward choice between a male and a female variant on the same main character.
]]>The release of Zenless Zone Zero means that more people than ever will be turning their attention to HoYoPlay, the combined launcher for all of HoYoverse's games on PC. HoYoPlay was initially introduced at the end of May and is being slowly phased in to replace the previous separate launchers for each game. It also marks the seeming end of HoYo's partnership with Epic — who included HoYo's last three PC releases on their storefront as an alternative means of getting into the games — which makes sense now that HoYoverse have come up with an in-house alternative. Indeed, ZZZ is the first game from the company to require HoYoPlay at launch on PC.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero is the latest free-to-play RPG from HoYoverse, and if there's one thing we know about F2P games, it's that their developers love to throw out codes — redeemable freebies to get you into the game in the hopes that you will, at some point, spend some of your own money to top up your currencies.
]]>Great news gamers, Zenless Zone Zero will have an uncapped frame rate. That means that you - yes you with the 4090, loads of LEDS, and no mortgage - can play this mobile game at the highest possible performance.
]]>In a crossover no one saw coming, senior developers from both Zenless Zone Zero and Street Fighter 6 have recently come together for a roundtable discussion about their games, game design philosophy, and perhaps most interestingly the thought process behind how to keep players invested in each title, while maintaining depth for hardcore players.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero is nearly here, which means keen players can pre-load the game right now on their chosen platform. Whether it's PC, mobile, or PS5, you can skip the launch-day queue and get all the files ready to go so that you can jump into the action the moment servers go live. If this sounds like something you're keen on, we've got a breakdown on how to pre-load Zenless Zone Zero on PS5, PC, and Mobile.
]]>I've made the mistake of underestimating HoYoverse games before. When Honkai: Star Rail launched last year, I approached it very much with the assumption that Genshin Impact had been lightning in a bottle — a one-off banger that I was happy to make the sole exception to the rule that I had no interest in F2P RPGs aimed at a mobile-first market — and that I'd cover HSR for a few weeks around launch and then quietly drop off once the initial surge of interest died down. More fool me, then, when it ended up becoming one of my favourite games of 2023, with around 200 hours on my account to date.
]]>HoYoVerse has announced that Zenless Zone Zero will be popping up in various cities across the world in the days following the game's launch on July 4. There are 15 cities listed in total, though exact locations for some have yet to be locked in.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero has finally had its release livestream announced, and it'll act as a mix between a launch celebration, a source for game info, and probably a thing that dishes out some rewards for those who watch it live. It'll be going live on streaming platforms on June 28.
]]>Like most live service titles, the gacha RPGs created by HoYoverse tend to run on FOMO. They encourage players to log in every single day by offering little daily rewards that can add up substantially over time, but also by putting out regular time-limited content that becomes unavailable forever if the player doesn't make sure to get around to a certain questline or event before it expires.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero may have drawn comparisons to Persona 5 thanks to its urban fantasy anime aesthetic, but producer Zhenyu Li has revealed that Digimon was a far bigger influence on his creative vision for his upcoming HoYoverse title than Atlus' blockbuster JRPG franchise.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero has just teased a collaboration with one of the greatest DJs of all-time, Tiesto, as well as notable duo Lucas & Steve. This came via a short cinematic released on social media, which displayed the artists in-engine. The current scope of this collaboration remains unclear, although it's absolutely music focused (surprise, surprise).
]]>Zhenyu Li, producer of the upcoming urban fantasy gacha RPG Zenless Zone Zero, has said he would eventually like to see his game released on "all platforms". The game is due to launch on July 4 for PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
]]>This outfit is very-much themed on the Xianzhou Luofu, and gives changes her clothing colour to red and a new hairstyle. It also gives her two swords, which is dope. You can watch the trailer yourself down below!
]]>Finding the best Genshin Impact Sethos build is a bit more challenging than, say, putting together Clorinde’s build. Genshin Impact’s 4-star Sumeru archer has a complex, unique kit, and most of the currently available bows don't cover everything he needs. You'll have to get a bit creative, but on the bright side, that means you have more options than usual.
]]>Getting all the Genshin Impact Clorinde materials in order is pretty easy to do, especially if you've beenleveling Neuvillette. She uses almost exactly the same things - minus the Hydro stones, of course, since she's an Electro character. Best of all, you can get every one of Clorinde's materials early in the game, as soon as you finish the Mondstadt episode.
]]>Putting together the best Genshin Impact Clorinde build is pretty straightforward depending on what role you want the 5-star Electro character to fill. It even comes with some easy F2P options you can craft in Fontaine regardless of where you’re at in the story.
]]>The best Honkai Star Rail Boothill build is less of a fudger to put together than you might think, thanks to the Galaxy Ranger’s unique kit. He only needs speed and break damage – nothing else. That makes the Light Cone situation a bit tricky for now, but on the bright side, it’ll make getting the right ornaments and relics a breeze, comparatively speaking.
]]>Zenless Zone Zero finally has a confirmed release date after many months of speculation and a few leaks and there. The game will be releasing on all platforms - PC, mobile, and PS5 - on July 4 worldwide.
